World’s Largest Wood Carving Museum

The Wood Carving Museum houses features over 6000 wood carvings from around the world, collected by Stanley “Slim” Maroushek over the past 70 years. It is the largest wood carving museum in the United States. You will be fascinated by the many styles of wood carving, including realistic and caricature figure carvings, totem poles, tribal masks, religious carvings, scroll saw carvings, relief carvings, intarsia, and wood burning. Carvings range in size from tiny matchsticks to an 18-foot totem pole. It is the home of the 120 piece, two-ring “Circus Display” carved by the Caricature Carvers of America. Outside you will see a life-size+ chainsaw carved “Hobo Camp”, created by Slim, and relocated from Harmony Minnesota.
